Ride to Work -

The Ride to Work scheme is a part of the 1999 Financial Act that was introduced by the government. It allows employers to provide employees with bicycles and accessories as part of a tax-free benefit. The scheme is hugely popular, in that it offers employee huge savings of up to 50% off new bikes, whilst at the same time giving companies a fitter, heathier workforce, as well as making them more environmentally friendly.

The scheme is run through what is known as a salary sacrifice, in which you, the employee, agree to temporarily reduce your wages to pay for goods, in this case, a bicycle and accessories. The scheme is available to UK tax payers who pay PAYE (Pay As You Earn) tax. Please note that unfortunatly, self-employed workers cannot take part in this scheme.

If your employer is willing to participate, ask them to contact us and we will help them through the administration process with our partner company, Cyclescheme.
